A Cape Town workshop

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF versionI arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, Tuesday night. This place (I was in Cape Town last year) is beautiful and a place of struggle. I am here for a workshop co-sponsored by my organization. People from the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia are spending two days together. I slept little on the long flight in and again slept little my first night in the hotel. But a good walk earlier today before lunch will help me rest tonight, right? The walk was really meant to be a short jaunt in to a nearby retail section for some lunch. The two of us walk the long way around (and up/down) to reach our destination. I did not mind so much, really. This morning came early with a working breakfast at 7:30 followed by other planning sessions until about noon. I need to get out again for a walk in the hotel gardens and maybe the exercise room, because I did not exercise enough while on the plane rides. Even sitting on the aisle, I plant in the seat and do not move unless for a demanding nature break. I needed a break from the screaming child one row back on the first leg. He was irate about 1/3 of the flight. I grinned rather than cursed.
